Pricing & Information
Please see the following prices for Wedding packages. These are examples to use as a starting point, I can tailor-make your pricing once we discuss your individual needs.
I always recommend putting some money aside for your final product, so that this doesn’t become an ‘extra’ after the wedding. Your photographs deserve to be displayed, marveled at, and enjoyed. Photographs on a computer or your Instagram are simply not the same as seeing your photographs printed. Being able to handle them is such a joy, whereas files on a computer /device will need to be backed up and stored in a new way every time technology changes. Having a box of prints or an album /book that will last for generations is much more satisfying!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A ‘FIRST LOOK’?
Fast becoming a new tradition, the ’First Look’ allows a couple to see each other before the wedding, to share time together before the official ceremony. We can capture some beautiful, heartfelt moments candidly. The genuine surprise, joy and love expressed when you see each other in your wedding finery for the first time is a beautiful thing!! The rest of the day will be spent with other people and this is a chance for you to calm each others’ nerves and relax. You’ll still be blown away by each other as one walks toward the other at your ceremony!
With the ‘First Look’, we can do all your creative portraits before your ceremony and let you spend your precious time with guests after that. It’s not for everyone, but for those who want to break from tradition, and for early risers, it’s an option!
WHEN DO YOU DELIVER OUR PHOTOGRAPHS?
I understand it’s difficult to wait to see your photos, so I usually create a quick ‘sneak peek’ of what I consider outstanding moments and get those to you ASAP (within 48 hours). I genuinely can’t wait for you to see them!!
That’s before I go through your 1000 to 4000 photographs properly, doing some basic editing and narrowing them down for you.
If your package includes a slideshow you will receive this within the first week. Then depending on your package, you should have your images in 6 to 8 weeks. Depending on our shared design schedule, a book, album, or wall art can be completed within 2-6 months. I recommend finalizing any products within a year of your wedding so that your memories are still fresh when we complete the design.
HOW DO WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOGRAPHS AND ORDER PRINTS/ALBUMS?
If possible I’d LOVE you to join me to reveal your photographs to you, but I can also send them by courier on a USB stick, and if you have opted for an online gallery they will also be available on your own private website. Your friends and family can then order prints, framed prints, or canvases online without you needing to do this for them.
For your more outstanding images that you’d like as artwork/books or a beautiful album, it’s great to meet up and play with the design together if we can! Your wedding package allows for a consultation meeting before your wedding, a ‘reveal day’ to show you your photographs, and a design session to look at how we will display your favorite images. Two further design sessions (or all 3 of them) can be done online.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON OUR WEDDING DAY?
A really good question that is worth considering beforehand! If you are planning an outdoor wedding, it is a good idea to have a backup plan! As far as the photographs go it is no problem. I have a range of umbrellas and there are some fantastic locations under cover outside, or we can create magic moments indoors. It shouldn’t ruin your wedding day at all :)
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE GET?
It’s easy for me to rack up 1000-4000 images in one wedding, even more when there is a second photographer!
Don’t worry - you won’t need to see them all. Most of my time is spent in the editing, just going through all these photos can take me several days, let alone correcting them to be ‘print ready’.
I usually deliver about a quarter of what I shoot, so you can expect 250-1500 photos depending on the size of your wedding. You can request that I send you more, or less. When adding them to your USB drive or website I put them into categories, keeping different stages of the wedding separate to make them easier to find (pre-wedding, ceremony, family/friend group portraits, creative shoot, reception)
HOW MUCH DO YOU WORK ON THE IMAGES?
Every photograph I send you will have been checked for color/ brightness and is ready to print. I don’t ‘photoshop’ people unless asked to, however, I will remove simple/obvious pimples if that’s an easy task.
When I work on photographs creatively I keep your style in mind. I may apply filters or brighten individual areas to make the image ‘pop’. This is where you can request any retouching work. (Although I prefer to keep things looking natural, it’s up to you what kind of image we create!). Each package has a number of photos I will work on creatively, however, you can always request more at additional cost.
IS PROFESSIONAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WORTH IT AND WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE?
This seems to be a very common question! Yes, it is totally worth it!!!
If you are investing time and money into your wedding day, don’t you want to remember it? Your wedding day is an opportunity to get professional photographs of you and all your family members while you are all looking your best, and an experienced photographer is by far the best option.
It’s not the camera that counts. It’s the ‘eye’ of the photographer and their ability to capture emotional moments as they happen - fleeting moments that they need to be prepared and ready for in a split second. This requires instinct and absolute confidence in using their equipment.
Many professional photographers are rather perfectionist (like me) and want the best quality image they can create - so we do tend to spend A LOT on our equipment - not just cameras and lenses, but lighting, spare batteries and cards, a powerful computer and $hundreds every year on software subscriptions.
The sad part is that after investing tens of thousands of dollars in our equipment, it becomes obsolete very quickly because technology is changing so fast!
However, the most expensive aspect is the time we put into culling your images, making them ‘print ready’ by editing each one so that they have accurate color, straight horizons, and the correct levels of light and dark. This can take weeks after your wedding. It’s not just a case of taking photos on the day - this job takes WAY more time in the editing process :)
WHAT WILL YOU WEAR ON MY WEDDING DAY?
I will always look tidy and professional on your wedding day. In order to take photographs easily I generally wear long pants, with deep pockets for any memory cards that are full (I like to keep them on me at all times until I get home and back up the files immediately). I wear neutral colors without patterns so that I can blend in and not be seen, which I find especially important during your vows! My second photographer will do the same.
DO WE SIGN A CONTRACT WITH YOU?
Absolutely. The contract we sign together will have all the details of the wedding including our timeline and contact details for the day. You will be able to choose whether I use your photographs for publicity on my website /social media pages or not (I give away an 8x10 framed print to those who help me with publicity). The contract will also outline a payment plan. I require a 20% deposit to secure your booking, and 100% payment for the photography two days before the wedding (pre-payment for products is optional). I am willing to receive installments if you wish.
WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT TO THE IMAGES?
I do. This is common practice amongst professional photographers worldwide. You will not be able to sell the images commercially, however, you will be able to make as many copies as you wish for personal use, friends and family, and can share the images on your personal social media. We can discuss whether your other vendors will receive photographs showcasing their work, and with your permission, I like to share these myself.
In the past, my clients have entered their wedding photographs into competitions (once winning “Bridesmaid of the Year” in a NZ Wedding magazine), so I’m ok with that, as long as there is a credit to me as the photographer :)
